I had a batch of these in an album – dozens of team groups from Scarborough from the late 1940s onwards. There are some candid shots too, and I started to wonder if these belonged to a player at some point. Sadly I’ve sold quite a few, but I have kept scans so will work through them.
For now, this is the MCC team from 1957 and the names on the reverse are listed as Shepherd, Walton, Goonesera, Insole, Bailey, Edrich, Tyson, Warr, Dexter, Gale, Taylor. I can’t find an online scorecard from the game, but there was an interesting collection up for sale here. More from Scarborough to follow.
