



Part of the appeal of cricket, and of any sport in my opinion, is the stadium architecture. It’s something I find hard to explain, but I can imagine the theatre of competition just by walking past an empty ground.
In the main, I don’t have a problem with new designs. I appreciate many will be unhappy, for example, with the media centre at Lord’s, but I personally think it’s a striking construction and it doesn’t look out of place. Here is that juxtaposition of new and old in a test match from June 2022 – England v New Zealand. I’ll post some pictures of the action in the middle at some point.
