From time to time I’ll be adding photos from other sporting grounds. You’ll just have to indulge me here – I’m interested in stadium architecture and the whole theatre of sport, and I don’t have enough material to start a second website so please stick with it, or move on to the next cricket post.
This does, at least. have a cricket story attached. I was supposed to be staying at the Travelodge next to the County Ground in Derby ahead of a Blast game between Derbyshire Falcons and Notts Outlaws. We were just coming out of lockdown restrictions, and at the last minute I was switched to the Travelodge at Pride Park. I took some time to have a look round and here are some photos. I always like to see statues and it was no surprise to see Brian Clough and Peter Taylor honoured by the club.
